PRIMARY:
The basic reason for ORBA's existence is to build an organization
strong enough to stand up to the unreasonably powerful envi-ronmental
extremist organizations in this Country who would eliminate all forms
of Off-Highway Vehicle recreation in the name of protecting species
other than the human species. ORBA is incorporated as a 501C6,
nonprofit, mutual benefit corporation. However its operation will
always be driven by the need to keep its member companies profitable
and successful.
LEGAL:
Litigation by enviro-extremist groups has been very successful and has
led to the closure of millions of acres of public lands to vehicle access.
ORBA has retained a very competent legal firm that specializes in
environmental law. When other alternatives are exhausted, ORBA will
pursue litigation to whatever level necessary to win the right to preserve
and expand off-road recreation!
POLITICAL:
It has become clear to OHV Leaders that the political process is vital to the protection of OHV opportunities. ORBA has engaged the services of a
capable Lobbyist to assist with the development of important political contacts.
Many State Legislators know about ORBA and its efforts and our Lobbyist has
assisted in arranging two trips to Washington DC where ORBA's President met with
many Congressional Representatives and two Assistant Secretaries of the Interior
(two levels down from the President of the United States).
FINANCIAL:
Significant financial resources are needed to build a strong organization.
ORBA raises money to support its efforts through member dues and other
fund-raisers.
